Created as One
Diocesan Youth Gather for Fellowship and Fun

ValLimar Jansen – a popular draw and emcee at the recent National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis last November – will keynote both days of the upcoming diocesan Youth Rallies, Feb. 11-12, at Bishop John Snyder High School in Jacksonville.

Blessed with an extraordinary singing voice, ValLimar is a highly regarded singer, composer and recording artist. Her solo collection, Anointing, received several awards in 2008, including a Unity Award for Best Gospel Album and Best Gospel Song.

This year’s theme is Created as One, based on St. Paul’s Letter to the Ephesians: “one body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God…” (Eph 4:1-6).

High school youth will gather on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. ValLimar will lead the day with two presentations and other topics covered include: bullying, chastity, pro-life, disabilities and being Catholic in college. The day will conclude with Mass celebrated by Bishop Felipe J. Estévez at 5 p.m.

The middle school rally is Sunday, Feb. 12, beginning at 12:15 p.m. ValLimar will lead two presentations with several breakout sessions that touch on vocations, an introduction and appreciation of eucharistic adoration, self-image and respect, and avoiding offensive music, to name a few. The day will close at 5 p.m. with Mass celebrated by Bishop Estévez.

The fee for each day is $20 for youth and $10 for adult chaperones and includes lunch and snacks. Deadline for registering is Jan. 31. Youth ministers and campus ministers have all the necessary registration forms and information or you may download the forms from or click for a flyer. For further information, call Sarah in the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry at (904) 262-3200, ext. 112 or email:
