Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time Reflection

The Lord Jesus was faced with sorrow at the death of St. John the Baptist. Sorrow also for the world. Death of a loved one often brings sorrow on many levels. It has a way of uniting even strangers; we all have experienced a loss. In that quiet, Jesus encounters the comforting love a Father. The questions of “what next” or “am I next” fade into a memory. Life goes on, mourning to the very real needs and demands of the multiplication of the loaves and fish feeding the 5,000. Never forget when you might think nobody cares or understands-Jesus does, because He had been there too!

-God Bless,
Father John
