Director of Religious Education

The Religious Education program for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish is based on four guiding principles:

  • To establish and deepen our students’ personal friendship with Jesus Christ
  • To teach our students the doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church
  • To reinforce the faith foundation taught in the one and at Mass.
  • To teach Catholic life skills, personal prayer, scripture, sacraments, service etc.

The Religious Education Program

All parish children are expected to attend religion classes EVERY YEAR by attending our Parish Religious Education Program or enrollment in a Catholic school.  The students receive information and formation in Gospel values, Catholic doctrine, and the traditions and practices of our Church.

Our dedicated volunteers of PREP possess a deep love of God and a desire to share their faith coupled with the ability to work lovingly with children.  Parishioners may serve as teachers, substitute teachers, or teacher aides.  They may also offer their time and talent to PREP as clerical helpers, musicians, or arts and crafts people.

Our PREP Grade Level 1 – 6 Elementary School Classes include our parish children who are not enrolled in a Catholic school.

Our PREP Grade Level 7 & 8 Middle School Classes include our parish children who are not enrolled in a Catholic school.

Religious Education Catechists

The Joy of being a Catechist

A catechist (teacher) is called by God to do God’s work in a distance way. A catechist is called to echo the word of God in such a way that the faith of young students may mature and the Christian story may be handed on faithfully.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church NEEDS YOU to step forward and volunteer in our Parish Religious education Program (PREP) as a catechist, classroom aide or substitute catechist. If you are even remotely considering the idea of becoming a part of our PREP Team, please call Katie Allio, (386)445-2246 ext. 112.
