A training session with Brian Butler

By Erin McGeever

In his Wednesday audiences between 1979 and 1984, Blessed John Paul II reflected on Scripture references in order to answer questions on basic humanity.  The ‘Theology of the Body’ is Pope John Paul II’s integrated vision of the human person – body, soul and spirit. As he explains, the physical human body has a specific meaning and is capable of revealing answers regarding fundamental questions about us and our lives.

Teens and pre-teens are in a confusing time of quest and discovery, especially with issues concerning their bodies, their sexuality, their future and how they relate to others.  They need and deserve the correct answers.

The Theology of the Body for Teens Program (TOB) seeks to answer their questions in a practical and enjoyable format by answering the following questions:

      Who am I?
What is the difference between love and lust?
What does our sexuality teach us about God?
How do I discern my vocation to marriage, priesthood, single life or consecrated life?
How do I deal with bullying, gossip, peer pressure, pornography, etc.?
What if I have already messed up?
And more…

The Diocese of St. Augustine’s Office of Christian Formation (OCF) will provide both high school and middle school leadership training on Theology of the Body for Teens [click here for flyer].
